In 2002, I then decided to go back to pursuing the fine arts by attending art classes & workshops taught by Connecticut artists as Carol Ganick, Jill Nichols, Robert Norieka, Bernard McTigue, and Barbara Beck. For many years, I have entered my art and craft items for awards at the annual Durham Fair every September.
I have exhibited my artwork at various galleries such as the Cameron Gallery, the Wesleyan University’s Zilkha Art Center, and Ursel’s Web, Middletown, CT; Milford Fine Arts Council’s Firehouse Gallery and the Center for the Arts, Milford, CT; Valley Arts Council’s Gallery @37, Derby, CT; Essex Art Gallery, Essex, CT; Lyme Art Association‘s gallery, Old Lyme, CT; the Keeney Cultural Art Center, Wethersfield, CT and the Connecticut River Artisans’ Millhouse and Waterfall Galleries, Chester, CT.
I have also exhibited my paintings at various public venues as libraries and town halls and several outdoor art fairs throughout Connecticut. My original miniature paintings on easels were introduced during the summer of 2009 at the Valley Arts Council‘s Gallery @37, Derby, CT. They have been well-received and demand for them is great. They are currently for sale at the Connecticut River Artisans’ gallery, Chester; Gallery @37, Derby; and the Plainville Historical Society in Plainville, CT.
Six of my Historic Barn watercolor paintings were on exhibit for sale during the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation’s Barn Art Exhibit and Sale Event in October 2007, at the Wadsworth Mansion, Middletown, CT.
In April 2008 & 2009, at the Lyme Art Association’s gallery, several of my paintings were for sale during the “Expressions” Art Show and Benefit Sale held by the Lyme/Old Lyme Junior Women’s Club, Old Lyme, CT. In November 2008 & 2009, my paintings were exhibited at the Valley Arts Council and the Valley Philanthropy Council’s “The Art of Giving” Juried Art Show held at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, Shelton, CT. In the Spring of 2009, one of my paintings was juried into the Easton Arts Council’s “Art in the House” art exhibit held at the historic Bradley-Hubbell Home.
As a student, one of my oil paintings was exhibited at the Society of Illustrator’s Gallery in New York City.
I am a current member of the Art Guild of Middletown, Milford Fine Arts Council, Valley Arts Council, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Lyme Art Association, Essex Art Association, Arts & Crafts Association of Meriden, the Clinton Art Society, Rowayton Arts Center, and both the Easton and Fairfield Arts Councils.
“Watercolor and Acrylic are my mediums of choice because of the vibrant colors and the moods that can be invoked from these paint mediums. I love doing Landscapes and Seascapes because of the everchanging nature that surrounds us and I want to capture the essence of it.”
