2010 "Art of Giving" Art Show

The Valley Arts Council (VAC) and Valley Philanthropy Council (VPC) collaborated for a third year to present the “Art of Giving” juried art show. The show opening took place on Sunday, November 14th and the art remained on display through December 4th.

The annual show is a joint venture between the Valley Philanthropy Council and the Valley Arts Council and is supported in part by the Valley Community Foundation.

The Valley Arts Council’s goal is to ensure that the contribution that the arts can make to one’s life is recognized, valued, promoted and realized in the lives of all Valley residents. In keeping with that goal, the VAC has just opened the Valley Arts Center at 119 Caroline St., Derby, CT. which offers art classes and studio space for the community. Contributions for the New Arts Center can be sent to The Valley Arts Center, c/o The Valley Chamber of Commerce, 900 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton, CT 06484

The Valley Philanthropy Council is an association of development professionals and organizational staff representing eleven non-profit organizations in the Lower Naugatuck Valley including: Birmingham Group Health Services, Inc.; Boy Scouts of America, Housatonic Council; Boys and Girls Clubs of the LNV; Griffin Hospital; LNV Parent Child Resource Center; TEAM, Inc.; United Methodist Homes; Valley Community Foundation; Valley United Way; Valley YMCA and Visiting Nurse
