Gallery@37 Emerging Artists Spin Art

There was no shortage of budding artists as kids of all ages flocked to the Spin Art Booth at Derby Day on Saturday June 21.  Members of the Valley Arts Council, who own and operate Gallery@37, agreed that the booth would be a great way to introduce the youth of the valley to art in the valley.  As children created their one of a kind art pieces they were invited to visit the gallery just down the road from the Derby Green to see examples of art created by local artists. By coordinating efforts with teachers in the valley school system, the gallery hopes to showcase student art in upcoming exhibitions and implement juried exhibitions with scholarship awards for high school seniors pursuing art as a career.  Young artists are encouraged to visit the website in September for details on the upcoming exhibits.
